Joining a dating website. The perils of being scammed

I joined a very well known travel dating website this week and immediately the scammers set to work sending me their fake emails begging me to get in touch. The dating site provides you with a couple of free messages of live chat with anyone on there before cutting your conversation off in its prime and asks you to top up your credits by giving them your credit card details.  I've had some very nice chats mainly with Chinese women but the scammers are very easy to spot as they send you their email addresses straight away with no questions asked. One recent one, maryjacobs2929@yahoo.com,  said in her/his message, "How are you?You are such a very good looking man.I am very impressed.I am ready to be your companion.I am a Nurse by profession. I am sweet, loving, caring, sincere, cheerful, romantic and very understanding.Get me at....maryjacobs2929@yahoo.com  ,  I was flattered but I had to check it out on the scammer busters blog page before I replied and low and behold the same message and email appears on there as a warning to others. See, http://scumalert.blogspot.co.uk/2014/06/maryjacobs2929yahoocom-scam-confiriocom.html with the text reading,
"How are you? I am Mary Jacobs. I am 30 years of age, single and never married. I am a Nurse by profession. I am sweet, loving, caring, sincere, cheerful, romantic and very understanding. I am a one man woman and i do not disappoint. I do enjoy bowling, watching movies, doing karaoke and reading novels.Loneliness and boredom had led me to the internet thing. All i want is to love and be genuinely loved. Kindly tell me about yourself please. kindly send me a message via email....maryjacobs2929@yahoo.com"
